SHARE, Milford NH (603) 673-9898
The mission of the SHARE Program is to provide food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance to area families in need who do not qualify for government assistance or for whom that assistance is insufficient or delayed in coming. World Service Ministry
Embracing our mission, “Serving Neighbors Near and Far”, the World Service team works to support local, national and global outreach initiatives, through financial, time and talent contributions.
For our current mission and outreach projects, visit our SOS page, which lists our current 'Special Opportunities to Serve'.
Christmas is always a special time for this mission, providing support for those in need including gifts for local children and their families, nursing home residents, and recently displaced foster children. Annually, “Santa and Mrs. Claus” visit families in transitional housing with gifts, laughter and good will shared around warm cocoa and cookies. The joy is deeply felt by all.
The Congregational Church of Amherst is firmly committed to supporting the "5 for 5" United Church of Christ appeals: Our Church’s Wider Mission (OCWM) annual pledge, One Great Hour of Sharing, Strengthen the Church, Neighbors in Need, and The Christmas Fund. Our contributions to these appeals helps the New Hampshire Conference provide financial support to the wider settings of the United Church of Christ—right here in New Hampshire, in the United States, and in our global mission settings around the world.
Church World Service works with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world. Together we reach out to neighbors in need near and far–not with a handout, but a hand up.
Around the world, Church World Service supports sustainable grassroots development, disaster relief, and refugee assistance, and we educate and advocate on hunger-related issues. In the U.S., we help communities respond to disasters, resettle refugees, promote fair national and international policies, and provide educational resources.
