Small Group Ministry is where 8-10 people meet in a committed group with the intention of establishing deeper connections with each other and with God. The groups meet once a month from October to June and are led by trained lay members of the congregation.  The group meetings run 1.5 hours and include a check-in, a short topic reading, discussion of the topic, and closing prayer.

This year our Small Groups will focus on the WHY WE WORSHIP theme that is guiding our Creative Worship and other church programs. Each month we’ll focus on a different aspect of our worship and how it connects with our faith journey!

For four Wednesday evenings during Lent, we will gather on Zoom to discuss a wonderful new Lenten Study: Meeting Jesus at the Table, by Cynthia M. Campbell and Christine Coy Fohr. With passionate words, evocative illustrations, and engaging discussion questions, the book invites us to move through this Lenten season using the familiar table stories from the Gospels. Like moving from house to house in a progressive dinner, at each stop we gather at a different table with Jesus, learning how to love, serve, and expand the hospitality of God’s grace to others.

Pastor Maureen and Pastor Kate will alternate as facilitators of the sessions. The book is available in the church office for purchase for $15 or you can order online.  Each session will focus on two of the eight chapters in the book. If you don’t have the time or the space to add a weekly reading to your plate join us anyway! We’ll pull out quotes and passages to seed our discussion and all are welcome to participate! RSVP to Pastor Maureen to receive the Zoom link, or find it on our church website in the Member’s Section.

Creative Worship GIVING: Offering

Sunday
March 19

10:00 am
View Details

On the third Sunday of every month, our worship service is a special “Creative Worship.” We come together as the community of Christ to worship God with meaningful music, communal prayers, and an engaging message. While all of our worship services are creative, these special services are more informal, interactive, and shorter than our traditional service, and each has a theme to frame our worship. Our worship themes match our church school theme for that Sunday, and after a special Children’s Time, children will go off to their church school classes.

For 2022-2023 our overarching theme is Why We Worship – each month we will take a closer look at the parts that make up our Sunday service and explore how each element serves as a distinct expression of our communal worship – and our faith as it’s lived out in the world.

To ensure all that want to can attend worship, we have several ways you can participate in our worship service:

  1. In person every Sunday at 10:00am
  2. Livesteam on our CCA Facebook page* every Sunday at 10:00am. If Facebook prompts you to register or enter account info, click on “Skip.”
  3. Visit our Sermons Page or our CCA YouTube Channel* which will have the the current Sunday recording posted after 12:00pm. Archived services available any time.
  4. If you would like, submit an Online Prayer Request

*View, download, or print the Weekly Bulletin as you follow along.
