Now that the first class of 20 of CCA members has dived into our own histories and experiences of whiteness, we will turn to the experiences of People of Color (POC) to learn about the struggles of our brothers and sisters, and go deeper into God’s call for us in this time.
With Ijema Oluo’s book, So You Want to Talk About Race? as its cornerstone, CCAmherst will be offering a second, 6-week Adult Ed Series, “Waking Up White 2.0: A journey towards becoming an Antiracist Christian.” In this series we will be exploring some big questions:
~ How do we take what we learned about the history of whiteness in the US and continue to grow?
~ How is God calling us to respond to our new knowledge?
The series will be held August 13th — September 24th (skipping August 27th), from 6-7:30pm on the virtual meeting platform, Zoom. Please obtain a copy of So You Want to Talk About Race? by Ijema Oluo if you would like to participate in the series. The book is available on Amazon (link above) and at the local Toadstool shops: https://www.toadbooks.com/book/9781580058827
Please contact Pastor Kate (603-673-3231 x14) if you would like to participate in this Adult Ed Series by August 11th.
