Is the OLD Testament still relevant today? Who wrote it and why? This fall, we’ll continue to take a NEW look at the OLD Testament through this video lecture series produced by the Great Courses. We’ll explore the writings of the prophets, the poetry of the Psalms, the wisdom of Proverbs, the suffering of Job, and how we might see the entire Old Testament as one grand story. These dynamic lectures, given by Robert D. Miller II, Professor of Old Testament at The Catholic University of America, examine the original contexts and give us a new look at these ancient texts with a fresh perspective.
We’ll watch the video together as a group and then have a discussion facilitated by Pastor Maureen. The class will meet every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. We’ll meet on Zoom but anyone who feels comfortable gathering in-person at the church is welcome to do so (masks are required). We’ll have a computer set up in the parlor so the gathered group will be able to see and hear those gathered on Zoom. All are welcome! Please RSVP to Pastor Maureen to receive the Zoom link, or access the link on our church website in the Members Section using the “Zoom Mtg Links” button and look for Wed Adult Ed.
