Children’s Outreach

Our church school and our youth groups work hard every year on various outreach projects.  Below is information on our annual outreach projects:

Heifer Project

The children’s weekly offering, as well as individual contributions, are donated to Heifer International. These gifts are transforming, helping farmers, creating opportunities for women as entrepreneurs, and sending children to school. For more information, visit the website for  Heifer International.

Mission Sunday: November

On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, students prepare a turkey soup luncheon for the residents of the Mill Apartments in Milford.  Our children also create table favors and other fixings of the meal as part of their fall and winter term class work. Our children (assisted by teachers and volunteer parents) serve and share the meal at the apartments around noon.

Christmas Eve Stuffed Animal Collection

Children of all grades bring a stuffed animal (new, washable) to the family worship service on Christmas Eve at 5:00 p.m.  The collected new stuffed animals are donated to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Springfield Massachusetts. There, children receive life-changing procedures, at no cost to their families. Hospital staff use the animals throughout the year to comfort and reassure patients. During worship, after the presentation of the nativity, children bring their offerings to the chancel steps.
