"Caring for the Earth"
Stewardship of our land, air, and
water
This year’s church school theme was chosen
to help children become aware of an issue in the forefront
of many adult minds, the stewardship of our land, air and
water resources.
From their earliest Bible stories, children
learn that “God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis
1:1). Now more than ever, it is critical to lead them to
understand the responsibility that comes with that gift.
Here are a few suggestions to augment the messages they will
hear in church school this fall:

Take a nature walk together. Point out
the living and dying in nature that mirror the miracle
of human life.

Take a few hours on a Saturday and pick
up trash in one area of town.

Reinforce recycling by creating craft
items from plastics.
