Mission trip to New York City!
Members of our church family, please keep us in your prayers!

The elements of youth ministry mirror the work of the wider church. Those elements include: worship, mission, outreach, community/fellowship, and learning/teaching.

Mission
Local Mission: Senior High Youth have developed a relationship with residents of the Granite Square Apartments in Milford. This ministry is rich and life-affirming for both the residents and for our young adults. We are in the process of expanding local mission opportunities.
Mission Trips: We undertake a yearly mission trip. Every other year we travel to Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, Mississippi; other years we stay closer to New Hampshire, traveling most recently (summer 2002) to work at HOME in Orland, Maine. In 2004 we travel to work in New York City.

Teaching and Christian Education
Senior High Youth are involved teaching Sunday School. Additionally, a regular part of Senior High programming on Sunday evenings includes planned conversation that aims to deepen understanding of Christian belief and how that belief relates to the reality of our lives.

Community
An essential part of the Senior High program is the building of community, centered in God’s love for us, and His call to love others. Practically speaking, what this means is that we continually and consciously work to be people who will take the risks to be real for each other, and speak the truth in a spirit that intends to lift others up, rather than put them down.

Music
Senior High Youth have opportunities to share their musical gifts through the New Youth Choir, which includes grades 7-12. Additionally, Saturday Worship provides an excellent worship setting for music offered by our young adults.

Worship
Sunday evening youth programming includes worship and prayer in the sanctuary. In this way, we stay in right relationship with God and receive the gifts that strengthen us for life’s hard journey.

In the Near Future....
We envision broadening the possibilities and opportunities for local mission for our youth, and also to re-commit ourselves to reaching out and welcoming more senior high youth into this spirited community. To do these things, we are increasing the number of adults involved in youth ministry. Every little bit of adult involvement helps to strengthen the ministry of our youth, as they grow in the knowledge of God in Christ by loving themselves, each other, and their neighbors.
