Dick Leavitt Senior Pastor: The Rev. Richard G. Leavitt (603) 673-3231 ext. 11
Dick Leavitt has served as our Senior Pastor since 2004.  Before coming to Amherst, he served several different UCC churches in Massachusetts and New York State.  A graduate of Andover Newton Theological School, Dick brings steady leadership, experience, compassion and wisdom to our congregation.  He has been a mentor or supervisor to more than a dozen seminarians and members in discernment.   His progressive theology sets a tone for inclusiveness and welcome, as we live out our commitment to be a vital church engaged with the world.  Apart from church work, Dick enjoys kayaking, hiking, skiing and most outdoor sports.  He also sings with the Manchester Choral Society, an auditioned community chorus in the area.  He and his wife Debbie have two grown sons, Tim and Andrew, one who lives in Los Angeles, the other in Boston.
Maureen Frescott Associate Pastor: The Rev. Maureen Frescott (603) 673-3231 ext. 14
Maureen is a recent graduate of Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Center, MA. She completed the Master of Divinity program in three years, during which time she was the recipient of Andover Newton’s full-tuition Presidential Merit Scholarship.  She also brings with her fifteen years of experience serving churches as an active member, Director of Religious Education, Sunday School Superintendent, Council member, small-group facilitator, Adult Ed and Confirmation class leader, student minister, sabbatical pastor, worship leader and supply preacher. During the summer of 2011 she served as a Chaplain at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT. In her downtime, Maureen loves to bike, hike, run, read, and write. Since 2007, she has kept an online blog, in which she has documented her own spiritual journey as well developed it to be a creative outlet for posting spiritual reflections and many of her sermons. Maureen lives in Amherst with her spouse Stephanie.
Sara Phelps Director of Music: Sara Phelps (603) 673-3231 ext. 16
Sara has been with us for over 20 years.  She is our Music Director, which includes overseeing 4 of our choirs: Chancel Choir, Voices of Creation, Youth Choir and Junior Choir.  Sara has a BS in Music from Hartwick College and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from UMASS.  She is a former conductor of the Merrimack Concert Association Community Chorus and taught Choral Music programs at the high school level in Salem and Nashua NH.  She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association.   Her passion is caring for others – Sara also volunteers as the Coordinator of our Congregational Care program, which provides support and assistance to the spiritual, emotional and tangible needs of our church community.  She is a Licensed Nurse Assistant and a Home Health & Hospice volunteer.
Andrea Cyr Church Office Administrator: Andrea Cyr (603) 673-3231 ext. 0
Andrea is responsible for all church office functions and responsibilities.  She grew up in Nashua and now lives in Lyndeborough with her husband Steve.  She has two young adult children, Lauren and Tim.  Andrea is very active in gardening, cooking, kayaking and cross-stitching.  She also has an unusual hobby, reef keeping, which is the practice of setting up, maintaining and learning from reef aquariums.
LAZOTT-WENDY-12 Hand Bell Choir Director: Wendy Valeri
Wendy has been playing handbells on and off in this church for 30 years, starting in our very first Junior Handbell Choir.  She has been directing the choir for the last few years and greatly enjoys the fun and friendship that is a result of the wonderful people in the choir.   While Wendy enjoys directing, her real passion is playing – so you can catch her playing a bell solo on occasion.  Outside of the church, Wendy is a Sr. Workplace Planning and Guidance Manager at Fidelity Investments.

Michael has been with us since 2010 and is also Director of Education at Indian Hills which is a non-profit center for music education and performance serving over 50 communities in the Nashoba and Merrimack Valleys.
